Story
Early spring has just begun to brighten the fields.
Among the fresh green leaves and soft yellow rapeseed blossoms, a tabby cat pauses mid-play, looking upward as if something in the breeze has caught its attention.
In Chasing Spring in the First Light, Jing Li captures the lively curiosity of a cat exploring the first signs of spring. The warm yellow flowers, muted green foliage, and soft ink tones create a scene that feels light, playful, and full of new-season energy.
Painted in the traditional Chinese Mogu style, the forms are built directly through layers of ink and color rather than outlined contours, allowing the cat, flowers, and surrounding atmosphere to emerge with softness and natural rhythm.
A gentle painting about curiosity, springtime, and the small joy of discovering the new world.
