Story
This piece belongs to a body of work exploring the fragile boundary between botanical form and material transformation. At high temperatures, mineral pigments shift, soften, and settle unpredictably, allowing kiln fire to become a co-creator in the final composition.
The orchid its petals dissolve into soft violet tones, while the stems hold a calm structural rhythm, anchored by layers of glaze and granular ceramic texture.
Speckled surfaces and subtle kiln marks remain visible across the background, preserving traces of heat, gravity, and time. Each imperfection is part of the work’s living surface.
