Wabi-sabi is the whisper that time leaves upon an object. In Single Branch, Xianyue Lee captures not the lush abundance of wisteria, but its withered grace and solitary pride after the blossoms have fallen.

The deep blue-black background evokes the depth of night, from which a gnarled, winding vine emerges. Its texture is as rugged as wind-eroded stone; its form as sparse as a dying ember. Lee imbues the piece with an ancient, almost compassionate strength—like a silent elder standing at the end of time, wordless yet carrying immense weight.

This is a unique, one-of-a-kind original. Once sold, it will not be restocked.

Pure Expression: Unlike traditional ceramics, Lee uses no additional pigments or painting layers. The entire scene emerges from the artist’s mastery of Yaobian (kiln transformation) a delicate balance between human control and the soul of the fire.
