This hand-pinched large plate is a heartfelt record of a cozy winter moment. The rim is adorned with fluffy yellow blossoms, while the center features resilient wild grasses that thrived in the artist's garden despite the bitter cold. On a rainy winter day, feeling the warmth of her home and a surge of hope, artist Xinfeng Wang inscribed the words: "I am expecting spring in winter, and it feels wonderful." This piece carries the happiness she found throughout 2025, serving as a reminder to cherish the present, embrace challenges with hope, and always look forward to the "spring" in our lives.

This is a unique, one-of-a-kind original. Once sold, it will not be restocked.

Dimensions

16 × 26 cm (approx. 6.3 × 10.2 in)

Materials

Hand-thrown and hand-pinched stoneware, decorated with underglaze or in-glaze techniques. Fired at high temperatures (1220–1280°C) for durability and a unique rustic texture.

Each plate is shaped and painted entirely by hand. Subtle variations in brushstroke, glaze tone, and pattern placement are a natural result of the process—making every piece uniquely its own.

Care

Not microwave or oven safe. Hand wash gently with mild soap. Due to the porous nature of stoneware, temporary "rain-leak" spots may appear when wet but will vanish once dry. For best results, soak in rice water overnight before first use to season the clay.
