Story

Inspired by the cool quietness after summer rain. Soft blue glaze covers the cup and small saucer like a cloudy sky, while hand-painted raindrops fall across the surface in dark and pale tones.

This set carries a gentle outdoor mood: damp grass, fresh air, woven picnic cloth, and the slow feeling of holding a warm drink after the rain has passed. The rustic clay texture and slightly irregular handmade shape make each piece feel natural, intimate, and quietly alive.

Made for tea, coffee, milk, or a small moment of rest, A Passing Rain brings the freshness of a summer shower into everyday rituals.

Product Details

Dimensions

Cup capacity: 250-300 ml / approx. 8.5-10.1 fl oz
Saucer diameter: 8 cm / approx. 3.1 in

Materials

Hand-thrown and hand-pinched stoneware, decorated with underglaze or in-glaze techniques. Fired at high temperatures (1220–1280°C) for durability and a unique rustic texture.

Each cup and plate is shaped and painted entirely by hand. Subtle variations in brushstroke, glaze tone, and pattern placement are a natural result of the process—making every piece uniquely its own.

Time to make

7–15 days

Care

Not microwave or oven safe. Hand wash gently with mild soap. Due to the porous nature of stoneware, temporary "rain-leak" spots may appear when wet but will vanish once dry. For best results, soak in rice water overnight before first use to season the clay.
