High-Temperature Glaze Ceramic Painting –Lotus in the Breeze III (Original 1/1)
Story
This piece is the most abstract of the series, reaching deep into what Xianyue Lee describes as her inner "chaos." The lines and colors may seem disordered, but they represent a layering of emotions—struggle, release, sedimentation, and ultimately, hope.
In this work, Lee stops trying to make the lotus "look like" something and instead allows the Yaobian (kiln transformation) to speak for itself. The intersecting blocks of color, the fluid boundaries, and the accidental textures mirror those unclassifiable moments in life. It does not seek to appease order but rather embraces complexity. It whispers to the viewer: beauty does not always have to be quiet; chaos, too, can be profoundly sincere.
